Military Arrests 50 Pipeline Vandals, Recovers 100 Canoes, 3000 Jerricans

 The Military has arrested 50 persons suspected of vandalising pipelines at Majidun area of Ikorodu in Lagos. About 100 canoes and ferries used by the vandals were recovered at around 7.30p.m. on Saturday. Over 1,000 jerricans filled with siphoned petroleum product and over 2,000 empty ones were also recovered.

                 The raid was jointly carried out by personnel of Nigerian Navy and Army after a tip off on activities of pipeline vandals in the area. The operatives stormed the creeks while the vandals were operating, but some of them who could swim, dived into the river and swam away while at least 50 others were apprehended.
