At first I thought what men can do, women should be allowed to do same. Then it dawned on me, not in this case.A woman was arrested on charges of bigamy after she allegedly married three men, police in North Carolina said.
McDowell County Police said that they arrested 33-year-old Tia Chappell of Old Fort, after being accused of lying to court officials.
While obtaining her third marriage license she claimed that her most recent marriage was the first. Investigators discovered that she had tied the knot twice before, and never divorced.
Chappell is married to another two men in Cabarrus County.
The McDowell County Register of Deeds alerted the authorities of the marriages after which Chappell was arrested and charged with perjury and bigamy.
Chappell was booked into jail and is being held on $10,000 bail.
