Transformation Ambassador of Nigeria ''TAN'' Rally Goes Bloody In Niger

Several people comprising top government officials were said to have sustained various degrees of injuries following a collapse that occurred on Saturday during the Niger State rally of the Transformation Ambassador of Nigeria (TAN).
According to Premium Times, the incident which occurred at the Minna Trade Fair Complex caused pandemonium as supporters were seen scampering for safety.

It was reported that the venue was packed to the brim when the VIP seating area comprising top government officials and chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party suddenly caved in, trapping a few of those already seated.
The dignitaries who had conveyed to beat drum of support for the reelection of President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015 general poll where reportedly rushed to the hospital for medical attention, while some supporters horridly left the venue.
However, when the state governor, Babangida Aliyu, observed that supporters have started leaving the venue, he rushed to the microphone to appeal to the crowd not to leave assuring them that the situation had been brought under control.
Similarly, Gabriel Aduda, a senator representing the Federal Capital Territory also appealed to supporters and attributed the incidence on opponents of Jonathan’s administration and the devil himself.
“Whatever happened here, the devil is a liar. No weapon fashioned against us and Jonathan shall succeed. What happened was because the crowd was too much” he said.
The rally, however, continued after an alternative seating area was created for important dignitaries.
Responding to the development, Minister of Information, Labaran Maku, he remarked that President Jonathan was one of Nigeria’s best presidents, and stated that power would return to the North after Jonathan had completed four-year tenure. He promised that his own sate, Nasarawa would give the President 95 per cent of their votes.
TAN has been staging rallies across the country in support of Mr. Jonathan’s reelection bid despite the president personally advising political, religious and other groups to desist from convening large gathering as a way of curtailing the spread of the Ebola Virus Disease. President Jonathan has declined to halt the rallies despite widespread calls on him to do so.
Meanwhile, the Transformation Ambassador of Nigeria (TAN) is campaigning for the reelection of President Goodluck Jonathan in the 2015 presidential election, although the President had preciously advised political, religious and other groups to stop convening large gathering as part of efforts to contain the deadly Ebola virus from further spreading.

It would be recalled that a group, under the aegis of Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN), had recently organised series of rallies for the president in the South-west, South-east and South-south. On September 11, 2014, Chief Uzor Okafor, the coordinator of the Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN) has promised to mobilise about three million voters in Anambra State as part of efforts to actualise President Goodluck Jonathan’s second term bid.
