Delta Poly Student, 4 Others Arrested For Gang-R*aping Student


                   5 people have been arrested and detained by the Delta State Police Command for allegedly gang-r*aping one Favour Orji, a student of Delta State Polytechnic, Ozoro.
                    A press statement signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Celestina Kalu, gave the names of the suspects as Ekperierie Weomazino, Awolowo Abel, Chukwuka Godspower, Wilson Odili and Ojumah Kelvin. According to the statement, in the afternoon of 30 August, 2014, one of the suspects, Ekperierie Weomazino, also a student of the Polytechnic,
allegedly invited her to escort him to Owhelegbo junction in the town to collect his handset.


The victim added that on reaching the junction, the said Ekperierie Weomazino and the four others raped her and thereafter photographed her while she was na*ked.

Upon receiving the complains of the victim on 4 September, operatives of the Division swung into action and arrested the suspects. DSP Kalu who disclosed that investigation into the matter was in progress, added that the suspects would face the full wrath of the law.
