3 Additional Cases Of Ebola Confirmed In River State


  Commissioner of Health of River state has now reported additional 3 confirmed cases of Ebola virus disease in Port Harcourt. Additional suspected cases are being investigated. Background on the Port Harcourt index case Ebola virus was imported into Nigeria via an infected air traveller, who entered Lagos on July 20 and died 5 days later.





Recall that after the death of Dr. Samuel Enemou in Port Harcourt after contracting Ebola, a second death has been recorded in the city.

The latest victim is said to have died at an isolation ward in Port Harcourt, after contracting the disease while being treated at the hospital where Enemou died.

Dan Nwomeh, special assistant on media and communication to the minister of health, revealed the news.
