Mbu Joseph Mbu , the Commissioner of Police in Abuja according to a press statement has placed a ban on protests in Abuja advocating the release of the girls kidnapped in April 14th by members of Boko Haram.
He said these protests were actually organized by groups and individuals over the abduction .The Federal Government also tried to create a fake group of protesters that shifted the blame of the missing girls from the government to Boko Haram , this also prompted to him to ban the protests.
“Please note that the Police has not banned all protests and rallies in Abuja. No”.“What was banned is the #BringBackOurGirls protest; and it was banned in order to forestall breakdown of law and order in Abuja” , he said .
Former Minister of Education, Obiageli Ezekwesili has criticized the commissioner on the ban accusing him of lack of sympathy because he's daughter was not involved in the abduction .
