Katsina Auto Crash Kills 5, Injures 52

Five persons reportedly lost their lives on Sunday, in an accident which occurred at Gora village in Malumfashi Local Government of Katsina State.
The Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, Commander in Malunfashi, Muhammad Tijjani, who made this known to newsmen, said the crash which occurred at about 10:00am, involved a truck conveying about 100 people.



According to him, the victims were coming from the annual Maulud celebrations commemorating the birthday of a popular Islamic scholar, late Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass.

He said that 52 other persons sustained injuries, adding that the truck which was coming from Gombe was heading to Bakori, headquarters of Bakori Local Government area of the state when the tragedy haapened.

The late Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass, is a Senegalese and grand leader of Tijjaniyya Tariqa Sufi adherents and Vicegerents of popular late Sheikh Ahmad Tijjany, the founder of the Islamic sect.
