A suspected ritualist who has been pretending to be a mad man was yesterday attacked by an angry mob, along Ring Road, after he was caught with human tongues in Ibadan.
According to eyewitnesses, the middle aged ritualist, who stayed by the side of a pedestrian bridge at Oni and Sons bus stop, had been perpetuating evil acts for some months. However, luck ran out on him when some residents of the area who had been suspecting his movement discovered his notorious act,
and decided to deal with him. It was gathered that while searching him, bras, pants and female clothes of different sizes suspected to be those of his victims were found on him. Also, more than 400 campaign posters of a Labour Party governorship aspirant were among the items found under the bridge where he kept his loot and dangerous weapon.
As at the time they filed this report, National Mirror says the police at Oluyole Police Station were quizzing the man, while people thronged the location to view the materials found on him.
Reacting to the story, the State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Superintendent Olabisi Ilobanafor, said the man found with the human tongue was a destitute and that he had been taken to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation. According to her, it is only a forensic test that could confirm whether what was found on him were human tongues or not.
She also added that since the discovery of the Soka forest of horror in Ibadan, mobs had been attacking suspected people, adding that one person had been killed and another rescued by the police. A man was beaten to pulp by a mob who suspected him of being a member of those operating at the Soka forest of death cos they allegedly found in his possession two BlackBerry phones, as well as a booklet which contained list of human parts and their prices.
