His mother has managed to round up almost 40,000 Facebook friends to wish him many happy returns.
Colin has a disorder similar to Asperger syndrome, which affects his social skills and ability to make friends.
When his mother Jennifer, from Richland, Michigan, in the US, asked him if he wanted a birthday party, she was heartbroken when he told her he had no friends to invite.
So she took to Facebook in an attempt to make him feel special on his big day, launching a page called Colin Is Eleven which has been inundated with messages of support.

‘So when I asked him if he wanted a party for his birthday, he said there wasn’t a point because he has no friends. He eats lunch alone in the office everyday because no one will let him sit with them, and rather than force someone to be unhappy with his presence, he sits alone in the office.
‘I thought, if I could create a page where people could send him positive thoughts and encouraging words, that would be better than any birthday party.’
Colin’s family plan on showing him the Facebook page on the morning of his birthday.
UPDATE: Remember the boy who had ‘no friends’ to celebrate his birthday with? He now has more than one million on Facebook
