The Voice 2014: Viewers erupt in indignation after 90s chart star Angie Brown is rejected

The latest former chart star to make their mark on The Voice UK won herself a bunch of support from viewers, despite failing to land a place in the next round.
Singer Angie Brown – best known for appearing on the 1992 Bizarre Inc hit I’m Gonna Get You – appeared in the final round of blind auditions on Saturday night.
But despite impressing the coaches with a rousing rendition of that very song – the 50-year-old failed to convince any of them to turn round for her.
And viewers were quick to respond to Brown’s rejection, with Angie’s name quickly trending on Twitter as they voiced their amazement at her failure to progress.
They were even more surprised that the coaches initially failed to realise she was the track’s original singer - with will.i.am telling her: ‘I have always loved that song and I never thought I would meet the person who sung it.’
