The Jigawa Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps says it has arrested a man, 20, for allegedly raping an eight-year-old boy in Dutse Local Government Area.
The Commander, Mr Muhammad Gidado, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Monday.
Gidado said that the suspect was arrested in the Jigawa-tsada quarters of Dutse town on Sunday following an intelligence report.
He said that the suspect allegedly lured the boy into his room and committed the offence.
He said that a medical report by Rashidi Shekoni Specialist Hospital, Dutse, had confirmed that the boy was raped.
Gidado said, “The suspect confessed to have committed the offence with the boy on previous occasions, and that he lured the child with N20 each time.”
In another development, a middle-aged man, Bashir Adedeji, was on Monday arraigned before an Ibadan Customary Court in Mapo for allegedly usurping property left behind by his late father.
Two of his siblings, Musibau Adedeji, and Fatai Adedeji, who represented 13 other aggrieved siblings, told the court that Bashir took over the will left behind by their late father.
The duo said the will contained two houses in Ibadan and a big farmland at Akanran.
Bashir, however, denied the claims by the complainants.
