Ghana Government Tells Brazilian Officials To Disregard World Cup Fans’ Brazil Asylum Bid

Lol, every man loves to make use of every given opportunity they have...While they seek for tourist visa to Brazil World cup, never did the officials know that their citizens had other plans at the back of their mind.
Yesterday 200 Ghanaians requested asylum after entering the country on tourist visas to watch the World Cup. The Government has reacted, suggesting that the grounds for their claims for asylum are false.
According to the fans who have become asylum seekers in Brazil, they are Muslims who are fleeing religious conflict in Ghana. However, the Deputy Information Minister-Felix Kwakye Ofosu has come out to say, “the basis for this alleged [asylum] request is completely false as no religious conflict is taking place in Ghana”.

A government statement said there was no religious violence in the country. The group are believed to be part of a government-sponsored delegation, mainly comprising supporters of the governing party.

Ghana is seen as one of West Africa's most peaceful and prosperous countries. "The basis for this alleged request is completely false as no religious conflict is taking place in Ghana," said a statement from Deputy Information Minister Felix Kwakye Ofosu. "Ghana's mission in Brazil has been instructed to liaise with the Brazilian authorities to investigate the matter."
