Three Secondary School Students in Osogbo Remanded in Prison Custody Kidnapping Their Fellow Student.

          An Osogbo Magistrate court has ordered three secondary school students in Osogbo, the Osun state capital to be remanded in prison custody for allegedly kidnapping their fellow student.
         Two of the suspects were said to be students of Osogbo High School, while the third one was a student of Government technical College, Osogbo.
        The accused persons; Saheed Ayelabola (21), Azeez Ogunbayo (21), and Ayoola Habib (15) are facing a four-count charge of stealing, kidnapping, assault and conspiracy.
         The police prosecutor, Mr Fagboyinbo Abiodun, an inspector, told the court that the accused persons committed the offence on 14th March, 2014 at about1.30pm at the premises of Osogbo High School, Osogbo.
        Abiodun also told the court that the accused persons allegedly kidnapped one Ridwan Lawal, a class three student of Osogbo High school and took him to

an abandoned Primary School in Isale-Aro area of Osogbo where they allegedly tortured him, before they were nabbed by the police.
He added that the accused persons unlawfully collected the sum of one thousand, five hunded Naira(#1,500) from the victim.
He said the accused had committed an offence contrary to and punishable under sections 316, 365, 351 and 390 of the Criminal Code Cap 34. Vol ll laws of Osun state of Nigeria 2003.
However, counsel to the accused persons, Mrs. Nnanna Ugwu, prayed thecourt to grant the accused persons bail in the most liberal terms.
The presiding Magistrate, Mr Olusola Aluko, overruled the bail application and ordered her to file formal bail application.
He ordered that the first and second accused persons be remanded at Ilesa prison, while the third accused be kept at police custody in Osogbo.
