A 32-year-old Mary Faith McCormick has been accused of raping an underage boy and sending him séxually explicit text messages and photos. It was discovered that the two had consensual séx at least twice and their relationships lasted for no fewer then three months.
The séxual contacts began after the 13-year-old and his friend visited the teacher’s apartment to watch a movie and when the friend left, the boy and the teacher had séx. The affair came to light when a 12-year-old girl friend of the boy found out nude photos of the teacher on hic cellphone and reported the matter to the police.
An iPad, two iphones and desktop computer were seized from McCormick’s home for further investigation that revealed explicit photos and text messages. Thereafter she was detained and sent to prison where she spent a night before being released on $50,000 bail. McCormick was suspended from school on full pay, she will again appear in court in September.
Under Arkansas law, ‘consensual’ séx between an adult and an underage minor is considered rapé because the minor cannot legally consent.
