Police Recovers N15 Million From Three Robbery Suspects

Officers of the Sokoto State Police Command on Tuesday said it recovered the sum of N15 million from three armed robbery suspects immediately after they finished their operations.
Douglas Agbouleni, the state’s Deputy Commissioner of Police, who made this known to newsmen, said the suspects were apprehended along a forest route in Rabah Local Government Area of the state.

He said a team of police officers stopped the six-man gang after receiving a distress call from some of their victims.

“The money was taken from one of the traders at Illela market in Illela Local Government Area, a border town, during an operation” Agbouleni said.

The commissioner of police, who further revealed that three other robbery suspects were currently at large, promised that the command would soon arrest and bring them to book.

He listed the arms and ammunition recovered from the suspects to include one locally made pistol, six barrels as well as one Italian pistol.

The commissioner also disclosed that the command had also arrested two suspects, who specialised in robbing motorists within bank premises in the metropolis, adding that two other handset thieves were also apprehended with six mobile phones and some cash.
