19year Old Mother Abandons Her Baby, Commits Suicide

 A 19-year-old mother of a 2-year-old baby girl reportedly killed herself by drinking insecticide in Kabayi area of Mararaba, near Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The teenager was said to have ended her life out of frustration, due to abandonment and the suffering she has been subjected to since the birth of her baby.
It was gathered by Daily Trust that the deceased got pregnant when she was 17-years-old and the father of the baby absconded, disappearing into thin air.

After being rejected everywhere, she had gone to her mother, who she used to help hawk before she became pregnant for help, but her mother also rejected.
Out of frustration, she bought a bottle of insecticide known as ‘SNIPER’ which she allegedly consumed.
Her lifeless body was found in the street near a church at Kabayi by passers-by and residents who were attracted by the continuous cry of her baby. The little baby sat beside the mother’s lifeless body and crying helplessly.
Also found beside the deceased was an empty container of the insecticide and a sachet of pure water.
The matter was reported to the police who arrived the scene and took away the corpse and then handed over the baby to the mother of the deceased.
Confirming the incident, a police at the ‘A’ Division Police Station at Mararaba, where the case was reported said they suspect she committed suicide, adding that investigation is ongoing.
