Malala Yousafzai Flies to Nigeria to Campaign for Missing Chibok Schoolgirls

Malala Yousafzai, the girls' education campaigner who was shot by the Taliban, is on her way to Nigeria right now to campaign on behalf of the schoolgirls abducted by Boko Haram. Ms Yousafzai who was an early backer of the #BringBackOurGirls social media campaign, is due to arrive today and as well as meeting relatives of the kidnapped girls, she is expected to seek an audience with President Goodluck Jonathan.

Her visit to Nigeria takes place almost three months to the day since the abduction of the girls and her presence is expected to add to the pressure on the Nigerian government.

Malala also turned 17 today. Happy birthday to her. Watch her talk about the missing schoolgirls after the cut
