An explosion has been reported in Borno State, at the Maiduguri market near the Power Holding Company (NEPA) building. And according to eyewitnesses, the explosion, from a van loaded with charcoal and IED, was heard at about 8:20 a.m. Many casualties may be recorded as the area is usually a crowded commercial centre.
An officer of the State Security Service confirmed the explosion to PREMIUM TIMES minutes after it occurred. Emergency officials are said to be on their way to the explosion scene.
